With the FGZO you’re (f)lying in the right place

The Zurich Oberland Flying Club (FGZO) can look back on an interesting and long history. The club was founded in 1948. Flying was first carried out in Hittnau, later in Speck-Fehraltorf. In 1953, the airfield was approved by the then Federal Aviation Office and 3 years later the official inauguration of the «Speck» airfield took place.

The FGZO continued to develop positively. There were many interested people among the population of the Zurich Oberland. Private passenger flights are still very popular today. And for those who would prefer to fly an airplane by themselves, an individual trial flight under the expert guidance of an FGZO flight instructor is definitely the right offer!

The FGZO now has over 550 members
The Speck airfield offers many opportunities for those interested in the third dimension in powered and gliding flight. You can train not only as a private pilot, but also as a professional pilot. Further training with the aim of becoming an airline pilot is also possible at the FGZO. Glacier flying is a special experience. Since the end of 2008, the long-standing tradition of flying a vintage aircraft has been revived. Pilots with a valid license can enjoy a large and modern fleet of aircraft.
